Off to Niagara Falls

not been posting much cos i been pretty lazy, running through the park every other day, watching movies, cooking chilli, reading books, wandering round the city, lazing on the porch in the sun watching the human traffic, going out for beer, wasting a day with a hangover

yes it is fun

tomorrow i jump on my bike for a 90 mile ride to niagara falls, returning on tuesday with pics and bloggage. i can't wait to get back on the bike, which heidi thinks is mad, but it will be sweet to ride with only a small light overnight bag rather than a cross-continental load

james has been making amazing progress on his new bike, so i've signed up to to the 'devil ride' with him on an 'as far as he can get' basis and am hoping junior will join us. We will trundle along with a ringside seat of the 'battle of the competitives' that seems to be developing.

Hope is a wonderful thing, but don't ever rely on it :)

Where did my comment from before go? Disappeared into the ether along with my competitive urges...

Great to hear that you're doing the Devil's Ride, Kelv. Will be like a gentle stroll in the park for you...

I may also make it to the Devil Ride this year, though it is the weekend after the Trans-Cambrain Way, so I may still be unable to walk ;-P

Hi Kelv, just thought I'd catch up and say Hi. The Devil ride - mmm, may be a trifle too far for me. I rode 12 miles each way to work last Thursday and I can still feel it in my legs!

But I still have my Woodrup - 34 years old and going strong, if a bit like Triggers Broom in "Only Fools...", if you know what I mean.

1 respray, 3 sets of wheels, 3 rear changers, 2 sets of rings, 5 chains, 3 blocks, 4 pairs of pedals, 2 Headsets, 3 bottom brackets, 4 bottle cages and 26 bottles. Oh no, make that 27 - I got a new one on Newtown Market earlier this month!

So remember - a bike is for life, not just for Christmas!
